RJ Golf Management, LLC
The management team consists of Randy Schairer and J.J. Maville who formed RJ Golf Management, LLC to oversee all operations of the facility. Randy and J.J. are both PGA Golf Professionals and have been working together for the past 20 years.
Randy Schairer was the head golf professional at Bel-Mar Country Club where he worked for 14 years and helped increase its membership to the point that by 1999, a membership waiting list was instituted. He spent several winters in Arizona working at the Wigwam Resort and MoonValley Country Club. Randy was also part owner of Whispering Pines Golf Club in Georgia. Randy is experienced in all areas of golf facility operation including food and beverage management. Randy holds a Bachelor's Degree in elementary education from the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater. Randy lives in Sycamore with his wife Nancy. Their daughter Jacey is attending her senior year at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, IA where she is majoring in Early Childhood Development. Their son Derek lives in Tempe, AZ where he works as a licensed real estate agent for Lennar Homes.
J.J. Maville graduated from the PGA's Golf Professional Training Program (GPTP) earning a scholarship in both Level I and Level II for being first in his class for the State of Illinois. Prior to that time, J.J. earned his degree in Political Science from the University of Iowa. J.J. worked as an assistant at Bel-Mar for 13 years. He spent six winter seasons during that time at The Wigwam Resort in Litchfield Park, Arizona where he gained experience overseeing 54 holes of semi-private golf. He has experience in large tournament operations, hotel guest and member relations, and merchandising at a golf shop that did $880,000 in annual gross sales. J.J. lives near the fifth hole at Timber Pointe with his wife Karla and their two children, Jack and Elisabeth.
Tyler Rieches - Golf Course Superintendent
Tyler Rieches was born and raised in Buckley, Illinois. He has dual degrees from the University of Illinois in Agricultural Economics and Horticulture, with an emphasis in Turf. He met his wife Beth in Champaign, and they have three children, Brenna, Josie and Zach. Tyler worked at The University of Illinois golf courses, the Orange and the Blue, during college for three years. After graduation, Tyler worked as the First Assistant Superintendent at St. Charles Country Club for four years before taking on the huge responsibility of growing-in a golf course. Tyler is a tireless worker with tremendous dedication to his profession and Timber Pointe. He assembled and directs an excellent golf course maintenance crew.
Chef James Ungs - Head Chef
Chef James Ungs is originally from Dubuque, Iowa. James has lived and worked in the Northern Illinois area for the past 15 years. James has extensive experience as a food and beverage director and executive chef at fine private clubs and hotels. Formally educated in the culinary arts, James has owed his own restaurant in Rockford. Most recently, he was an integral part of the opening team at Five Forks Market, owned and operated by Mayvilles drummer Randy Baker. Chef James promises diners an "excellent dining experience by utilizing the freshest and finest quality ingredients available." We are very excited to have James as part of the Timber Pointe team.
